ApplianceRanked helps you find the cheapest appliances to run. We rank 7,321+ ENERGY STAR certified products across 7 categories by annual energy cost, so you can make a smarter purchase and save on your electricity bill.

Our Data

All product data comes directly from the ENERGY STAR Certified Products database, maintained by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. We update our dataset regularly to include newly certified products.

How We Rank

Every appliance receives an efficiency score (0–100) based on how much energy it uses compared to the federal standard for its category. Products are then ranked by estimated annual energy cost, calculated at the US average electricity rate of $0.16/kWh.

You can also use our Energy Cost Calculator to enter your own electricity rate and see personalized running costs.

Independence

ApplianceRanked is an independent project. Our rankings are based purely on energy efficiency data — we don't accept payment from brands to influence placement.
